Its like a deja vu when I heard news about the Mumbai attack. It was like 911 happening again, perhaps a smaller scale but over a longer time span. And like Sept 11, I heard the news while in army camp where getting updates about the world news is slow and painful.
And perhaps the Mumbai attack brings terrorism closer to home. For the first time, a Singaporean was killed by terrorist. I don’t know Ms Lo Hwei Yen personally. But we are just separated by 2 degree. She is my cousin’s classmate in JC. My deepest condolence to her family.
Now that the attack is over, the question is, how should we react to this act of terrorism. I hope the authorities in India will act responsibly and wisely. I hope we don’t become a monster to defeat a monster like what we did after 911.
I would like to dedicate this song to those who lost their life in Mumbai last week.
