Bye bye dreamhost. Hello Gatorhost

I almost forgot that my subscription with nightmare host dreamhost is ending next week.

I’ve been searching for a better webhost even before dreamhost emailed me that my hosting is expiring. I guess I had enough of dreamhost. Its time to move even though they gave me extra 1 month free hosting. I would rather pay then have my site down.

After some searching, I guess gatorhost is the best. I hope.
So far didn’t really hear much bad comments about them. And they seem pretty good. So I’m moving out of my dreamhost and switching to gatorhost. Woohoo!!!

OK, now here is the tricky part. Moving from one host to another. I’ve no experience in doing that. Luckily Gatorhost has a free service to help new users transfer their files from old site. I wonder how effective are they. Hope they can successfully move everything over to the new site. Else I’ll have to move manually.

I stop blogging here until I managed to move everything to new host. So hold on for a while. Hope I can get everything transferred by end of Friday.
If I don’t return by next week, someone please make a police report. (haha… kidding kidding)

A day to remember

It is interesting to note that this year’s Inauguration Day is just 1 day after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Today is a day to remember. Not only because Bush is finally leaving the white house. It is also because we are seeing the first Black President in United States.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

Sir, your dream is slowly coming true.

Where the hell is Mas Selamat?

Ever since Mas Selamat escaped from Whitley Road Detention Centre on 27 Feb 2008, one burning question is left unanswered. “Where the hell is Mas Selamat?”

Well, Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng gave us an official answer couple of days back.

ALMOST a year after he escaped from custody, where is terror fugitive Mas Selamat Kastari?
Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng narrowed it to either of two scenarios: one, he is in Singapore and hidden by sympathisers unknown to the authorities, or, two, he has fled the country.

Asked which was the more likely, Mr Wong told The Straits Times: ‘It’s very hard to say. Both scenarios are plausible. Maybe the second one is more plausible.’

WOW. Thank you Mr Wong for the fabulous answer. Yes, indeed, Mas Selamat is either in Singapore or outside Singapore. I don’t think there is a third possible scenario. No wonder we are paying Mr Wong millions of dollars each year.

A long hectic day

There is nothing like a glass of Moscato and great music from Kenny G after a long hectic day.

It’s a tough moment for everyone of us. But I believe we are going the right direction. We just need more time to show it to everyone.

I guess MP and blogger Lam Pin Min said it best in the newspaper article.

Unless the good practice guidelines set up by the association are accepted by the “general blogger,” its efficacy may be “undermined”.

Singaporean wanted by Interpol

According to the newspaper, a Singaporean by the name of Jerry Ee is currently wanted by the Interpol in connection with the recent Raffles City Cortina thief. It is reported that S$8m worth of watches were stolen last december.

This means that he can be arrested by any of Interpol’s 187 member countries and extradited back to Singapore. And if I’m not wrong, there are only 8 countries that are not member of the Interpol. That means he is in deep trouble. Although some of the countries that are not a member of Interpol has pretty good looking beaches. Sorry, I digress.

What caught my attention was the photo that Interpol used on their wanted people page.

A photo of the person with a V sign? Hmmm……. Nice choice of photo.

PS: On a serious note, please inform your local police if you see this guy. Chinese, 35 year old, 1.62 m and 50kg. Conversant in English, Mandarin and Thai.
