I was invited to the blogger’s sneak preview of the Acer Aspire Timeline series. There are 2 new models being launched, The Aspire 3810T which is a 13.3 inch and The Aspire 4810T which is a 14 inch laptop.

The biggest selling point of the Aspire Timeline series is the battery life. This machine comes with a 8 hours battery life on a 6 cell battery. This is pretty impressive. In fact, you can even forget about bringing your power brick out already. The 13.3 inch model weighs 1.6kg and the 14 inch model weighs 1.9kg. Note that the 13.3 inch model does not comes with a optical drive.

I tried both the 13.3 inch and the 14 inch model. The keyboard doesn’t have that “oomph” feel when you type. Everything else looks pretty ok on first look.

The Acer Aspire Timeline series is now available at all Acer Authorised Reseller. Prices start from $1598 to $1998. Pretty attractive pricing.

Thanks to Brian from Ogilvy, Intel and Acer for the invite.

I still remember that the first laptop that i bought was the ACER Travelmate (about 6 years ago). The performance was (at that time) one of the better one in the market and i really love that.

However, I was disappointed about the amount of heat generated. I hope that there has been improvement in the newer products.
