Samsung unpacked the Samsung Jet and a bunch of Omnia phones

Samsung announced the new Samsung Jet, Omnia II (I8000), Omnia Pro B7610, Omnia Pro B7320 and Omnia Lite B7300 during the Samsung Unpacked event held concurrently in London, Dubai and Singapore. I was invited to the grand Samsung Unpacked event at Singapore Changi Exhibition Centre.

The main focus of the night is the Samsung Jet. The Samsung Jet is the latest Smartphone running Samsung’s proprietary OS with TouchWiz 2.0 interface and capable of multitasking. The Samsung Jet boast a host of multimedia features like 5 megapixel camera, DNSe & SRS sound effect technology, DivX and XviD video support. It comes with an amazing 3.1 WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display. HSDPA, WIFI, Bluetooth and GPS. It comes with a 800MHz Accelerated Application Processor. Phone is very responsive and launching application is fast.

The Samsung Jet also comes with their in-house developed Dolfin Browser based on WebKit engine. Flash is support on the Dolfin. Zooming in and out is easy using a one finger operation. Just long press the screen and drag up and down to zoom. Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is also supported on the Samsung Jet. All these on a 10.88 x 5.35 x 1.19 cm form factor.

Apart from the Samsung Jet, Samsung also announced a 4 new phone in the Omnia family. Samsung Omnia is their Window Mobile phone.

Omnia II is 3.7 inch AMOLED full touchscreen phone (like the Samsung Omnia).

Omnia Pro B7610 is a 3.5 inch touchscreen with a side slide out Qwerty keyboard.

Omnia Pro B7320 is a 2.4 inch with Portrait Qwerty.

Omnia Lite B7300 is a 3.0 inch full touchscreen phone.

I haven’t had a chance to play with the 4 Omnia phones. Will most likely be getting my hands on them tomorrow during the CommunicAsia. So check out my blog for a more detailed intro about the 4 Omnia phone. In the meantime, here is the unboxing video of the Samsung Jet. Will write a more detailed review on the Samsung Jet later.

PS: I won the Samsung Jet during the lucky draw. :D

Xinyun: Yeap. The back of the phone looks great. If you notice, there are some red lines when light is shining on it. The photos don’t do them justice.

    You are so lucky sia!

Looks really good the phone. Saw the advert in the MRT train and guessed its the phone that was unpacked for the event.

Congratulations on your win. Seems like you are on a lucky streak! :)
