Real size RX-78-2 Gundam at Odaiba

Submitted by on July 21, 2009 – 3:30 PM5 Comments | 6 views

I’m not a huge fan of Gundam, but this has got to be one of the coolest thing around. A scale 1:1 RX78 Gundam at Odaiba, Tokyo. The statue was constructed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gundam TV series. The RX-78-2 Gundam will have a head that moves up, down and sideways, and will be equipped with lights on approximately fifty parts of its body, including the head, eyes, shoulders and knees. There will also be mist sprayers in fourteen locations like the chest slits, ankles and back vernier.

The model is on display from 11th july till 31st August 2009.

Visit the official website for more info. (If you can read Japanese)
Or check out this blog for more photos and instruction on getting to the park.
