The danger of texting while driving

Submitted by on September 27, 2009 – 12:39 PM4 Comments | 1 views

Here is a video made by the police in UK to be shown to school kids. It’s to educate them the danger of texting while driving. Pretty realistic I must say.

Remember: Texting while driving is dangerous. So is drink driving.

80% percent of all rear end collisions (the most frequent vehicle accident) are caused by driver inattention, following too closely, external distraction (talking on cell phones, shaving, applying makeup, fiddling with the radio or CD player, kids, texting, etc.) and poor judgement.

  • Alyssa Myers says:

The way you solve this problem is to work with the mobile phone companies to pull the plug on phone coverage — or at least texting coverage — for drivers. Technically, this whole lethal problem can be fixed as a design issue.

Can you hear me now? No?! Good.
