Limited Edition HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje

Tord Boontje was in Singapore last week for the launch of the Limited Edition HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje. We were told that Singapore is the only country to have Tord Boontje attend the launch.

If you notice, most of the netbook in the market have very similar specs. So to stand out from the crowd, netbook makers have to come up with new ideas to attract the crowd. HP partnered with world renowned industrial designer, Tord Boontje to create a beautiful netbook like no other. The casing has a flora design that weaves delicately around 30 endangered animals, creating a mystical, layered effect. It has indeed caught my attention during the recent “Nothing but HP for me” event.

The HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje uses an exclusive HP Imprint 3D technology. I wanted to post some pictures of the netbook here but I think the photos won’t do them justice. In fact, even the product photo by HP doesn’t do the design justice. You need to see it for yourself to see the beautiful 3D design by Tord Boontje.

The HP Mini 10 also uses a 10.1 inch mercury free LED backlit display for increase energy efficiency. The packaging and user guides are made from 100% recyceled materials and printed on soy based ink.

The HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje is offered exclusively in Singapore by Starhub. HP and StarHub have collectively pledged to donate up to S$30,000 from the sale of the HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje to the Singapore Zoo. For every unit of the HP Mini by Studio Tord Boontje purchased, HP and StarHub will jointly contribute S$10 towards the conservation and breeding efforts of an endangered animal in the Singapore Zoo.

Go to Starhub website now to vote for either Asian Elephant, Orang Utan, Douc Langur, Proboscis Monkey or Pygmy Hippo to benefit from the donation.

And I really refuse to post any photos of the HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje in this blog entry. Seriously, go to the store and see it for yourself. All the photos online don’t do it justice at all. Anyway, here’s a photo of me with Tord Boontje.
