Microwave popcorns

Submitted by on December 16, 2009 – 1:30 PM5 Comments | 78 views

The recent reports about how unhealthy popcorns are is making me craving for popcorns. Yes, I know this is ironic. It’s just like me eating McDonalds while watching Super Size Me on TV. All these things doesn’t work on me. In fact, they tend to make me crave for it instead.

So to cure the cravings, I bought those microwave popcorn from supermarket. I’m not sure if they are more or less unhealthy than the popcorns you find in cinema. But who cares right? So long as it can cure the popcorn cravings.

It’s actually pretty easy to make these microwave popcorns. The instructions are on the packaging. Just put inside the microwave and press the start button.

One thing I’ve learnt is that don’t bother about the timing on the instruction. It can never be accurate since different microwave have different performance. Use your popcorn instinct.

Conclusion: Microwave popcorn can’t fight with the popcorn from Cinema. But then, they are much cheaper and always available. So its a good alternative. Or maybe I should try different brand next time?

By the way, after you are done, you might want to leave the microwave door open. Else your microwave will smell like popcorn for days.

Anyway, if you are interested, here is the report about popcorns being unhealthy.

Next time why don’t you try mixing flavours, like sweet and salty. I always do that when I go to the cinema.
