Went to watch Avatar last Thursday, thanks to the invite from Toshiba.
Actually, the entire story can be summarized in 2 words: “Pocahontas 2154AD”. Yeap, there isn’t anything special about the story. The plot is predictable. You’ve seen that story somewhere. A mixture of Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, Last Samurai, Matrix etc etc etc.
But I’m not saying it’s a lousy show. It’s a great show, in terms of the amazing computer generated graphics. In fact, I simply love the graphics. And I’m just watching the 2D version. I heard the 3D version is even better.
Watch Avatar not for the story, but for the special effects.
Think I’ll go watch Avatar again, but this time on 3D.

I think it is more male Pocahontas.
Also has elements of Invasion of the Body Snatchers except it is the humans who are snatching the alien body.
Some also say it is like Night Elf (Warcraft) vs Terrans (Starcraft). More Night Elf hunters because got pets help to save the day plus they are proficient with bow and arrows.
However, I find Signory Weaver’s role the most saironic. In all her Aliens movie, she tries to run away from the Aliens trying to “merge” with her. In Avatar, she tries her best to “merge” with the aliens but gets rejected.

it’s just a recreation of Smurfs
eh, are there solutions for people who wear glasses/spectacles to watch movies in 3D? It’s really frustrating for people like me, to put on a second pair of glasses to watch movies
