How to “cut” an Ethernet cable in data center?

Here’s a interesting prank you can play on a sysadmin. Get a magician and “cut” an ethernet cable infront of him. Then magically joins it back.

Visit Isilon Systems to see how it was being done. Actually, I sort of guessed it already. Quite a common trick.

    btw, that data centre is a mess. my previous company have a clear direction, even for data centre cabling.

    yellow for inter department switches & hubs.
    blue for file servers
    grey for phone trunkings

    Ha ha… quite a nice piece of social media marketing. Not the traditional way of marketing a IT company but it definitely works. Geeks like magic tricks too.
