First Look: Fuji FinePix REAL 3D W1
Spotted this at the LG INFINIA launch event. A Fuji camera that takes 3D photos. Impressive.
The Fuji FinePix REAL 3D W1 is a 10 megapixel camera that can take 3D photos and 3D video. I’m actually impressed by the small form factor. I was expecting something slightly bigger. For 3D photos, the files are stored in MPO format. The file size for a 3648×2736 pixel (L 4:3) in Fine quality is around 9.8MB. Video files are stored in 3D-AVI format. A 8GB SDcard can store up to 57 minutes of 3D video (640 x 480)
To view the photo or video taken in 3D, you will need to a 3D TV (and wear 3D glasses). The guys from Fuji took a 3D photo of us and displayed it on the LG INFINIA 3D TV. Looks pretty good. Can’t show you how it looks like cause it’s impossible to take a photo of a 3D image on a TV. If you don’t have a 3D TV, you can also consider buying the Fuji FinePix Real 3D V1 which is a 8 inch 3D digital viewer.
The technology is still very new. Doubt it will pick up so fast. Not sure if this technology will replace the normal digital camera that we are using now. We will see in a few years time.
By the way, you can also print the 3D photos taken using the Fuji FinePix 3D W1. It’s actually Lenticular Photo and you can view the photo without any 3D glasses. This photo above does not serve justice to the picture. It’s looks better when you see it yourself.

looks quite impressive. Something new, kind of better than those in straits times, don’t need the blue-red glasses. Haha!

Tobiascai: But then, printing Lenticular photo is still pretty expensive. So I guess in the meantime, the blue-red glasses is the way to go until the price drop.
So how and where did you print the photos? How much did it cost?
