Dee Kay Dot As Gee Giveaway: Photography seminar by Mattias Klum

Wow, it’s been a long time since I do a giveaway on my blog.
Anyway, I got a pair of ticket for a 2-hour photography seminar for
nature photography enthusiasts. The seminar will be conducted by Mattias Klum.

Mattias Klum (photographer and filmmaker) was born in Uppsala, Sweden and has worked as a freelance photographer since 1986. He regularly contributes to National Geographic Magazine, has published ten books, has directed or co-directed internationally released films, and has exhibited his photographs around the globe.
Mattias Klum has dedicated over 20 years to documenting Borneo’s unique flora and fauna and has been following the story of Tebaran, who resides in the forest, for nearly as long. On one expedition, Klum took a team of four assistants on a 14-month journey deep into the
100,000 acres of protected rainforest in Borneo’s interior. The team lugged over 4,400 pounds of gear to support the mission, including camera and filmmaking equipment, solar panels for power, and a hot-air balloon to provide aerial views of the forest. Their work has resulted in two feature stories in National Geographic plus books, traveling exhibitions, lectures, media interviews, and films.
In this seminar Mattias Klum will share what makes good storytelling and what it takes to get the story. Focusing first and foremost on the art of photography, he will touch on aspects which include but are not limited to: developing concept and narrative, research and preparation, establishing the photographer’s presence in the photograph, eliciting emotion, and using photography to inspire change. He will provide examples from his assignments for National Geographic and his numerous expeditions to Borneo to illustrate these points.
