Review: Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 4

A lot of people were saying that their iPhone 4 has longer battery life than their iPhone 3G or 3GS. It wasn’t really the case for me. Or maybe my iPhone 4 did have a longer battery life but I didn’t notice it because my iPhone usage increased too.

Whatever the case, most would agree with me that the iPhone 4 battery is still not enough to last thru an entire day if you have high usage. Luckily for us, there are lots of 3rd party accessories out there for iPhone 4. One of them is the Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 4.

Mophie is not new in the iPhone battery pack business. I’ve heard of them since my iPhone 3G days. The good thing about Mophie Juice Pack is that the battery pack acts as a case for your iPhone too. This is great for those who are in countries that experience antennagate issue. The Mophie Juice Pack Air is roughly 70.9 grams.

There is an on/off switch on the Mophie Juice Pack Air. This button is great if you want to keep your iPhone 4 in the Mophie Juice Pack Air without charging. There is a button at the botom of the Juice Pack for you to check the battery level. The Juice Pack uses a MicroUSB port for charging. You can charge both the iPhone and the Mophie Juice Pack at the same time. In fact, you can even sync your iPhone 4 with the Mophie Juice Pack on.

Although the Mophie Juice Pack Air has a 1500mAh battery, it is only able to your iPhone 75% more battery life. This is despite the fact that the iPhone 4 is using a 3.7V 1420 mAh Li-Polymer battery. The Mophie Juice Pack Air charges roughly 10 percent every 15 minutes and drains itself in 2 hours.

The only problem I have with the Mophie Juice Pack Air is that it makes it hard to press the volume and power button. Not really suitable for those with fat fingers.

As a whole, the Mophie Juice Pack Air is great for those who need more battery life out of their iPhone 4.

In short:
More Juice for your iPhone 4

Gives iPhone 4 additional 75% battery life
Acts as a iPhone casing

Hard to access volume and power button
