Here’s a useful Facebook app which I think everyone should be using. It’s call Norton Safe Web. Think of it as virus scan for your Facebook.
What it essentially does is that it will scan all the links on your news feed for any malicious content. Sure, your friends won’t post a malicious link on purpose. But what if your friend had a malware and it begin to post those links on his/her facebook?
Besides, Norton Safe Web is free. So why not just install it and set your mind at ease?
PS: Remember to turn on Auto-Scan.
I always say that Christmas season is the best time to visit Singapore. This is when the famous Orchard Road and Marina Bay area are decorated with beautiful lights to welcome Christmas. President Nathan officiated the Christmas Light Up on 20 Nov 2010.
The theme this year is “A Starlit Christmas”. Tanglin, Orchard and Somerset areas will be lit up in three main colours – pink, blue and purple – to symbolise the true festive spirit of Christmas, namely peace, joy and love. Marina Bay will be in colours of blue and silver to coincide with the colour of the surrounding waters. Personally, I prefer the Marina Bay area and the blue zone.
The best way to view the Christmas lights and building decorations is onboard the open top double decker bus. Tourist who spend $100 at participating outlets can redeem 2 passes for the Christmas Light-Up HiPPOtours. More details here. Alternatively, you can try walking from Tanglin Mall all the way to Plaza Sing then take the train to City Hall and walk to Marina Square/Suntec. Can be quite tiring. I walked from Suntec to Ion Orchard and my leg gave up on me the next day. Lousy.
The Orchard Road’s Best Dressed Building Contest is here again. SMS your votes and you stand to win attractive prizes. Check out the website for more details. Contest ends on 5th Dec.
Personally, I think last year’s building are better dressed up for Christmas compared to this year. It’s weird that Centerpoint didn’t take part this year. They usually do a good job.
The Christmas Lights will be up till 2 January 2011. So check them out if you haven’t.
