Smart Cover hack for iPad 1

Here’s a hack to get the iPad 2 Smart Cover work on iPad 1.

I have no idea why would anyone want to do this. The only good thing about the Smart Cover is the ability to turn the iPad 2 on/off. And iPad 1 can’t do it since it doesn’t have a magnet.

Isn’t it the proximity sensor in iPad 2 that allows the cover to turn it on/off?

Hun Boon: Nope. It’s the magnets inside the iPad 2 that turn it on/off. Just like how BlackBerry did it for their pouch.
