PAP Aljunied GRC posters vandalised

The PAP team in Aljunied GRC has filed police report for acts of vandalism on its banners, posters and perambulating vehicle.

Picture from CNA.

I know some people are angry. But let’s not get into trouble this way. The punishment for vandalism includes caning. Totally not worth it.

Vent your anger the right way. Vote for the right party on 7th May. Don’t waste time and risk getting arrested by doing those senseless things. No point at all.

Teo Ser Luck’s rally speech

Everyone is talking about the famous rally speech by Mr Teo Ser Luck.

But strangely, the video was taken down. I didn’t know there’s such a service. Maybe other candidates can also request to take down their rally speech videos if the camera angle show their double chin or can see their pimples. I think the female candidates will love this feature.

But like all things on Internet, there is no take down. Someone will surely have a copy of it and repost it again. For those who missed the famous speech by Mr Teo Ser Luck, check out the video here.

Sigh. Tell you all how many times already. The more you want to take down something, the more it will appear on Internet.

PS: I initially don’t want to blog about this rally speech. But since someone took it down, then it must be interesting.

Definition of Slum

According to United Nation agency UN-HABITAT, a slum is a run-down area of a city characterized by substandard housing and squalor and lacking in tenure security. They are usually inhabited by the very poor or socially disadvantaged.

Merriam Webster dictionary define Slum as a densely populated usually urban area marked by crowding, dirty run-down housing, poverty, and social disorganization.

Whichever definition you use, it’s an insult to say somebody’s home is a slum.

Eric Low, PAP candidate for Hougang SMC in 2001 and 2006, should be ashamed of himself for calling Hougang a slum. He has insulted the 24,560 residents of Hougang. He have no respect for the residents living in the SMC which he used to contest in. He should resign from PAP before he bring more shame to the party.

The current PAP candidate for Hougang SMC, Mr Desmond Choo, should apologise on his fellow PAP comrade’s behalf.

I quote Workers’ Party Pritam Singh: “Let me tell you what the residents of not just Hougang, but Potong Pasir also have: Pride, Honor, Dignity and Self Respect.”

Osama bin Laden is dead

President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden had been killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan by American military forces few hours ago.

The battle is won. But the war against the terrorist is not over.

Party Time by Tribal DDB and Brandtology

Party Time is a project by Tribal DDB and Brandtology to aggregate the news, blogs and conversations on the Singapore General Elections using an excessive 3D user interface.

Although the page looks beautiful, I’m sad to say that Party Time is only good for getting a general snapshot of what’s happening on the ground. It’s a pity that they didn’t provide more comprehensive data and charts. The info provided on Party Time is only a small fraction of what Brandtology can do. I know because my company is using Brandtology and I know how powerful the system is.

And I know that the sentiment rating on Party Time is not 100% accurate. Just a look at PAP’s chart and you will know. Don’t think PAP has 62% positive conversation on Social Media. Well, Brandtology is using algorithm to determine if the news, blogs and conversations is positive or negative towards the party. You and I know that it’s difficult to determine if the writer is being sarcastic or not. Even humans can be fooled some times. And Brandtology doesn’t have Watson to help them. That’s why the sentiment rating is not 100% accurate.

Brandtology knows this short coming too. Which is why they have social media analyst to go through the conversations for their clients to ensure the sentiment rating is correct. But that require manpower and time. I’m pretty sure they are not getting their social media analyst to vet thru the conversations on Party Time.

Well, at least you can use it to tell which party is doing better. PAP is the only party with sentiment value below 65%. The site is also good for checking out what people are talking about when they mention the Party. It is no surprise that the buzzword “Slum” is now appearing on PAP’s page.

By the way, the interface on Party Time is completely different from the actual Brandtology dashboard. Personally, I hate the user interface on Party Time. Looks good only. Not functional at all.
