Star Wars Planets Song

Check out this song. 161 planets. And that’s not the entire Star Wars Universe yet.

Sometimes I feel sorry for those living long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…. How do they study Geography and Astronomy in School?

Hotmail turns 15

Happy Belated Birthday to Hotmail. Hotmail turns 15 years old recently.

If Hotmail is a human, he would be in Secondary 3 this year and going for O level next year. Haha.

Hotmail was founded by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith and launched in July 1996 as “HoTMaiL”. (Capitalization on the letters “HTML”) It is the first web based email service. When Hotmail was sold to Microsoft in December 1997, it has more than 8.5 million subscribers. It now has 360 million unique users per month. In Singapore, there are more than 1 million Hotmail users.

I have been using Hotmail for the longest time. I still remember when I started using Hotmail before Microsoft bought it over. Can you imagine that the mailbox capacity was just 2mb back then? Well, its not as bad as you think since we don’t have much large attachements to send via email. And internet speed wasn’t that fantastic back then so most emails are pretty small.

Hotmail has been constantly improving. Do you know that you can chat with your Facebook friends directly on Hotmail? Watch Youtube videos directly on Hotmail when someone sends you a Youtube link. There’s even a conversation view for those who prefer their email to be threaded. (I still prefer the good old email style) Just recently, Hotmail launched a new service call “My friend’s been hacked” to alert Hotmail when a trusted source starts sending spammy emails. Pretty interesting feature.

Happy Birthday Hotmail.

What happens if you wear Man Utd jersey at Liverpool training session

This happen in Malaysia few days ago when a Manchester United fan decided to attend the Liverpool FC event wearing a Man Utd jersey. The video description also mentioned that the guy kept provoking the Liverpool fans.

Well, I’m not a soccer fan, but I think this guy is just asking for it.

And look, he is already very lucky that nobody beat him up.

So remember kids, don’t do such foolish things.

Update: Hisham just told me that Wayne Rooney tweeted about this incident and called the guy a legend.

The lad who went to watch Liverpool train in mufc top with my name on the back is a legend.

Disappointed to see Wayne praising his fan for such stupid act. I hope this doesn’t prompt more people to follow. It’s just plain stupid to wear a rival jersey and start provoking the fans at their event. In some countries, that’s equivalent to suicide. Instead of asking his fans to stop such act, he went on to praise the fellow.

My respect for Wayne Rooney just went down the gutters.

My weekend to do list

So glad that the major projects are finally over (although there’s another one looming over the horizon) Yes, I know I’ve neglected this blog for the past few weeks. Going to take things easy this weekend to recover from the madness and catch up on some of the backlogs.

Here’s my to do list for this weekend:

– Tidy up my Google Plus circle (And explore the goodness)
– Try out Dragon Nest (Must make use of my Close Beta account)
– Review HP Office Jet 6500A Plus printer
– Play a bit of Team Fortress 2 (Mindless killing)
– Blog (This blog entry doesn’t count)

OK, not a very busy weekend after all. Take things easy.

Mac OS X Lion coming soon

If the rumors are correct, then Apple will release Mac OS X Lion tonight (Singapore time). Apple said that they will be releasing Mac OS X Lion in July but no confirmation on the exact date yet.

But one thing for sure, Mac OS X Lion is available only on the Mac App Store. Apple retail store and authorized reseller will not be selling OS Lion. Yes, that means you need to have Mac OS X Snow Leopard with Mac App Store and download roughly 4gb worth of files in order to move to Lion.

And depending on the speed of your broadband connection, this might take a short while or a couple of days. I think it’s going to take a few days for me since I’m still on a 3Mbps connection. YES, unbelievable but true. Maybe I should upgrade my Broadband speed.

Too bad I’m not living in the US. According to some reports, Apple Store will allow customers to use their WIFI to download Mac OS X Lion. This is to cater to customer who are on dial up or metered broadband service.

Actually, I wish the local Apple Authorized Resellers would provide this service too. I will most likely end up shopping while waiting for Lion to be downloaded. Who knows, I might buy a new iPad casing or even the Apple Bluetooth keyboard which I totally don’t need. Haha.

I wonder if anyone in the US will carry their 27 inch iMac to the Apple Store.
