A friend of mine emailed me this recently. It’s an Election Flyer by Tan Kin Lian.
There is something wrong with the second line: “如果作为你们的总统选举”. For those who don’t know Mandrain, here’s the translation: “If I become your President Election”.
No no no no no no….. Mr Tan Kin Lian, I don’t want you to become our President Election (if that is even possible). Maybe you mean “民选总统” which means “Elected President”.
Did anyone even check before printing?
Actually, I think I know how they make such a big mistake. Take a look at the English version of the flyer.
Go to Google Translate and type the second line: “If elected as your President”.
Please…. don’t use Google Translate for your election flyers.
