American Express Singapore don’t know how Singapore flag looks like

Saw this Facebook advertisement by American Express Singapore.

Dear American Express Singapore,

The Singapore Flag is Red and White in colour with a crescent moon and five stars. The Red and White colour flag without crescent moon or stars is an Indonesia flag. And I don’t know which country has a flag with a crescent moon and two stars.

Please spank your graphic designer.

Thanks & Regards

Update: American Express Singapore have updated the advertisement. :)

New blog header for National Day

OK, I know I’m a little late this year. Usually I’ll put up my National Day blog header in late July or first few days of August. But due to some time and technical issues (which I shall not go into detail), I’ve finally managed to put up a new blog header for National Day.

OK lah, not late yet. 3 more days to National Day.

By the way, been seeing a lot of people putting the Singapore Flag on their car’s wing mirror.

Brilliant idea. Too bad I don’t have 小白 anymore. Else will surely get this.

Google should hire this guy

If someone did this and wants to work for you, it’s hard to say no. Google should really hire Matthew Epstein.

Within 36 hours, he received over 4,000 Facebook Likes, 3,000 Tweets and 1,500 Google+. Impressive right?

Visit his blog and follow his journey on landing a job in Google.

Gmail Email Intervention

Here’s an interesting marketing campaign by Google for their Gmail service. It’s call Gmail Email Intervention.

All you need to do is go to, fill in your friend’s email address and choose from 1 of the 3 ready made template email to convince your friend to switch to Gmail. Pretty straight forward. But I wonder if the other webmail client will label it as spam. Haha.

Sort of reminds me of the Intervention in How I Met Your Mother.

So, do you have any friends that need an intervention?

BlackBerry announce Bold 9900, Torch 9810 and Torch 9860

Research In Motion (RIM) today announced plans to launch 5 new BlackBerry smartphones based on the BlackBerry 7 Operating System. We will most likely only see 3 of them in Singapore since the other 2 are CDMA phones.

BlackBerry 7 OS
The new BlackBerry 7 OS comes with a new BlackBerry browser with a significantly faster, more fluid web browsing experience. The advance WebKit browser engine together withhardware enhancement is able to deliver browsing results that are up to 40% faster than BlackBerry 6. The new browser also have optimised zooming and panning for smoother web navigation and optimised HTML5 performance.

The new BlackBerry 7 based smartphone also feature Liquid Graphics technology and dedicated graphics processor.

BlackBerry Bold 9900

I’ve played with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 few weeks ago. Quite like it. Check out my First Look posting.

BlackBerry Torch 9810

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 is the improved version of the current BlackBerry Torch 9800. Still have 3.2 inch screen and slide out keyboard. But comes with faster processor and BlackBerry 7 OS.

BlackBerry Torch 9860

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a 3.7 inch touchscreen phone without any physical keyboard. I was kinda expecting RIM to release a BlackBerry phone in this form factor. This is the largest screen smartphone ever from RIM.

No release date or pricing available yet for Singapore. Stay tuned.
