Indestructible Nokia

The good old Nokia candy bar phones are fantastic. They are durable, have long battery life and most of them still works after several years. In fact, I was using a Nokia 8250 recently during my In Camp Training. Works great. I’m pretty surprised that the battery still managed to last me more than a day even though it is at least 10 years old.

The Nokia 8250 is a beauty. It is the first phone with blue backlit. All phones before this had a green backlit. Oh, and it has the popular Snake game which kept me occupied during ICT.

There is a Meme going around lately about the Indestructible Nokia 3310. The Nokia 3310 was release around the same period as the Nokia 8250. The Nokia 3310 was pretty popular during it days mainly because of its cheap pricing.

Personally, I’m not a fan of the Nokia 3310. I don’t like those Nokia phone with just 1 button menu button and no dial/hang up button. That’s just my personal preference. But there’s no doubt that the Nokia 3310 is also a very durable phone like most of it’s candy bar counterparts from Nokia.

In fact, the latest Nokia Lumia 800 is also pretty durable since it is made from a single block of polycarbonate. Looks like the only way to destroy a Nokia phone is to send it to Mount Doom at Mordor.

Gosh, the 8250 was one of my alltime favourite phones. I still remember how I’d go home with the box and stay up the entire evening playing with it. The blue light was so charming.

Nokia 8250 was my first phone! Miss it very much, have to change to another phone because it don’t have speaker phone and the battery was dying.
