KABUKI: The Masseur and the Thief / Kabuki ANMA TO DOROBO

Kabuki: The Masseur and the Thief is coming to Singapore. The traditional Japanese theatre is touring South East Asia after a massive sell-out success in Los Angeles in 2010.
Kabuki (歌舞伎) is a classical form of traditional Japanese dance-drama, and most of these plays were written way back in the 17th and 18th centuries. Ka means sing, Bu means dance and Ki means skill. Often considered to be avant-garde or bizarre to non-Japanese critics and audiences, Kabuki engages viewers with a unique and quintessentially Japanese blend of dance, dialogue, wit and music.

The performance will feature 3 acts: 40 minutes KABUKI workshop, 20 minutes SUKEROKU Dance performance and 50 minutes KABUKI performance The Massure and The Thief. The performance is in Japanese with English subtitles.
Kabuki: The Masseur and the Thief will be at SOTA School of the Arts Singapore Drama Theatre for a two-day performance on March 16 and 17. Ticket price at S$78, S$65 and S$48.
