Review: Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2

At first look, the Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2 seems like a great idea. The Keyboard doubles as a iPad 2 case and protects the screen when not in use. Looks pretty stylish.

But after trying out for sometime, it seems like this isn’t really a good idea. The keyboard isn’t a full size keyboard. The keys are kinda cramp together. Sort of reminded me of those netbooks days. It will take some time to get used to the keyboard.

And while using the keyboard, I also find that my hands keep getting scratched by the edge of the keyboard which is protruding out. Perhaps its the way I type.

But the Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2 isn’t all flaws and no benefits. It’s a sleek looking keyboard which works well with the iPad 2. There are several shortcuts button meant for the iPad. When not in use, the keyboard acts as a case for the iPad 2 and protects the screen from scratches. When you lift the iPad 2 from the keyboard, the magnet on the case turns on your iPad 2 just like a smart cover. It uses a microUSB port to charge the internal battery and weighs 340 grams.

If you are considering buying the Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2, I recommend that you try out the demo units first. Make sure you are comfortable with the size of the keyboard and your hands don’t get scratched by the edges of the keyboard. The Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2 retails at S$139.

PS: Although it is called “Logitech Keyboard Case by ZAGG for iPad 2”, I’m pretty sure it fits the new iPad too since the new iPad is just 0.6mm thicker.
