Dropbox is in danger. Google just announced the launch of Google Drive. Yes, Google Drive is real.
Google Drive is a cloud storage service, and more…. Google Doc is build right into Google Drive so that you can edit documents directly in Google Drive. And since this is by Google, you can expect searching for your document inside Google Drive to be easy. You can search by keyword and filter by file type, owner and more. Google Drive can even recognize text in scanned documents using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology.
And like all cloud storage, you can access your files everywhere. Google Drive currently supports PC, Mac and Android devices. iPhone and iPad owners will have to wait a couple of weeks.
Here’s the best part. Google is giving everyone 5GB space on Google Drive for free. If you need more space, you can get 25GB for $2.49 a month or 100GB for $4.99 a month. Go to drive.google.com/start to get your Google Drive.
