Evernote Smart Notebook by Moleskine is now available in Singapore.
The Evernote Smart Notebook looks almost the same as a normal Moleskine notebook. You get the same high quality notebook you would expect from Moleskine. The only difference is the paper. It has a special pattern which allows the Evernote app to easily recognize handwritten words and sketches on the page. Evernote app will then transform the page into searchable notes in the cloud.
Each notebook includes a set of multi-color Moleskine Smart Stickers. These stickers are associated with a custom tag in Evernote. When a snapshot of a page containing one, or more, of the Smart Stickers is taken, the Evernote App’s Page Camera recognizes the stickers and automatically categorizes the digitized page in Evernote.
Every Evernote Smart Notebook by Moleskine comes with three months of Evernote Premium worth S$18. Evernote Premium offers an enhanced Evernote experience with a higher monthly upload capacity, offline notebooks, improved searching for PDFs and images and more note sharing options.
The Evernote Smart Notebook is available in large (240 pages) and pocket (192 pages) formats at S$41 and S$30 respectively. Get them at Kinokuniya or moleskineasia.com.
As part of the Windows 8 launch in Singapore, Microsoft Singapore presents Of Love and Hidden Charms, an web series starring Nat Ho, Rebecca Lim and Romeo Tan. The web series is available exclusively on xinMSN.
Of Love and Hidden Charms follows the life of a rookie xinMSN journalist, Christel (played by Rebecca Lim), who seeks to unravel hidden finds in Singapore while facing mounting deadlines and expectations from her boss, Janet (played by Choy). Adding some spice and excitement to her mundane work life in the office is the presence of the hunky sports editor called Marcus (played by Romeo Tan) and Ming (played by Nat Ho), the cute tech guy and photographer who’s never seen without a hoodie.
Christel starts receiving anonymous tips and links from a secret individual who drops her information through her Windows 8 devices and apps to help her complete her task of locating hidden locations around town. While Christel attempts to find out the identity of this secret angel, she’s embroiled in a complicated love triangle with her colleagues.
After watching the first two episode, I must say that the Hidden Gems featured in the story are pretty interesting. The great thing about the web series is that they actually list down the address of the Hidden Gems on the website. And since this is a web series presented by Microsoft Singapore, we get to see lots of Windows 8 devices and Windows Phone in action. Kinda cool. Storyline wise, hmmm…. I would say it is somewhat expected. I mean, by end of episode 1, you should have already guessed who is the “Robbin Hood” that is helping Christel.
Of Love and Hidden Charms is now showing on xinMSN. Fresh new episodes are released every Mondays and Thursdays. To join the conversations, follow @Microsoft_SG on Twitter and #hiddencharms.

I am one of the Kickstarter supporter for olloclip. It is one of the best product that I’ve backed on Kickstarter and I’m loving it. I use the fisheye lens most of the time. But I also use the wide angle when I need to take a wide shot and the marco for some extreme close up. I love my olloclip that I bring it with me most of the time.
But the only problem with the olloclip is that it is designed to fit the iPhone 4/4S form factor. This became a problem when Apple released the iPhone 5 which has a new form factor. But fret not! The makers of olloclip are releasing the olloclip for iPhone 5. You still get the same Fisheye, Wide Angle and Marco lens.
The olloclip for iPhone 5 is retailing at $69.99. You can pre-order now at olloclip website and it is scheduled to ship in end November. Should be able to make it in time for Christmas.
