Ahhh… Today is 12.12.12. A repeating date. And not just any repeating date. This is the last repeating date for the century. The next repeating date will occur in year 2101. Most of us are not going to live another 89 years so this should be the last repeating date in our lifetime.
Anyway, I’m just scheduling this post at 12:12pm to remember this special moment. And hey, if the Mayans are correct, then the world will end on 21 December 2012 and this will be the last repeating date in the world.
But don’t worry. I don’t think the Mayans predicted the end of the world. I keep telling people that it is most like a “Y2K” bug. Whoever created the calendar thought that civilization will never live that long so he didn’t continue the calendar after it end. So don’t panic and watch the movie 2012 on 21 Dec. Haha.
On a not so related note, 12 Dec 2012 is my ORD 10th anniversary. Wow, time really flies.
I know Instagram founder Kevin Systrom made the announcement last week during Le Web that Instagram will stop showing photos within Twitter stream in favor of directing users to Instagram’s website. But it seems like the whole thing only become effective this week.
So yes, in case you haven’t notice, you can no longer view Instagram photos directly on Twitter.com. In order to see the Instagram photo, you will need to click on the link to go to Instagram website to view it. It’s a sad day for all Twitter and Instagram users. To be honest, this move is really a pain in the ass. I keep forgetting that Instagram has disabled the photo integration. So I keep clicking on a Instagram tweet and wait a few seconds before I remember that the feature is no longer available.
Actually, I’ve been using Instagram lately because of the Twitter and Facebook integration. Now that the Twitter integration has been disabled, I’m thinking maybe I’ll go back to using Twitter to post my photos on the move. Besides, Twitter is rolling out their own version of photo filters soon and the best part is that the photos don’t need to be square.
Let’s be honest, 2012 isn’t a great year for RIM. But it seems like the company is going to start 2013 with a bang. The company just announced that BlackBerry 10 OS software developer kit has gone gold. Developers can now download the SDK at BlackBerry developer website.
Looks like everything is in place for the BlackBerry 10 smartphones launch on 30 January 2013.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mega Man (also known as Rock Man to some people) and Street Fighter, Capcom will be releasing Street Fighter X Mega Man, a free PC Game on 17 December 2012.
I know we’ve seen Street Fighter and Mega Man appearing together in the Marvel vs Capcom series. But this is different. This is Street Fighter characters appearing in Mega Man world. TOTALLY AWESOME!
The game will feature Mega Man and 8 Street Fighter themed levels and bosses in the classic Mega Man look and feel 8-bit world. The game also comes with 8-bit soundtrack using Street Fighter and Mega Man tunes blended together.
And best of all, this is a collaboration between Capcom and a Singaporean fan, Seow Zong Hui. Pretty impressive. Can’t wait till 17 December!!!
So head down to Capcom Unity website on 17 December to download the free game. Only available on PC. Mac OS users have 1 week to buy a new PC or install windows on their Mac.
