Bang With Friends Facebook App

Bang With Friends is an App that anonymously hook users up with their Facebook friends.

The App is very simple. You sign in with your Facebook account. The App shows you the profile pictures and names of your friends in a Pinterest like interface. All you need to do is to select the Friend that you would like to “bang”. They won’t know that you want to bang them unless they sign up and also state that they are interested in banging you. The App will email both parties if there is a match and the rest is up to them.

The creator of the App claim to have attracted 260,000 users in the first eight days and facilitated over 15,000 hookups.

OK, I know this Facebook App is slightly controversial. Although the App is supposed to be for quick hook up, I guess nothing is stopping you from using it to start a real relation. Just click on the profile of the friend that you are interested in. And if you get a match, maybe you two can sit down and have a good chat. Who knows, this may be a start to a new relationship.

Today is Valentine’s Day. Anything can happen. Right? Haha.

Please do not cheapen National Service by putting a price tag on it

I can’t help but want to blog about this after reading the Facebook posting by Mr Hri Kumar Nair, MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

My proposal is therefore a simple one. All PRs and foreigners must pay additional income and property tax to be called a National Defence Duty. In short, we do duty, they pay a duty.
The rationale is simple – since PRs and foreigners cannot contribute manpower to our SAF and Home Team, they make a financial contribution to the protection and preservation of their lives, families, jobs, investments and properties.

Firstly, I must thank MP Hri Kumar for recongising the sacrifice by all male Singaporeans. But please do not cheapen our 2 1/2 years of National Service and 10 In Camp training by putting a price tag on it. I find it insulting when MP Hri Kumar suggest that PRs and foreigners pay additional income and property tax. Nothing can make up for the time we serve. Putting a price tag on it is just degrading and insulting to all those who served the nation, especially those who suffer permanent injuries and families of those who died during NS. It only reminds me of pianist Melvyn Tan who was fined S$3,000 and forfeited the S$30,000 security deposit when he defaulted National Service.

Do not cheapen our contribution to the nation.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining and not asking the Government to give us anything in return for the time spend serving the nation. It is our duty as Singaporeans to protect and defend our country. If we don’t do it, nobody will.

If you really want to do something, then why not make all male PRs and foreigners below 40 years old do community service or serve in Civil Defence? I’m sure PRs and foreigners who truly wants to contribute to Singapore won’t mind spending a week every year to give back to this nation.

Kickstarter project for Death Star… and a Rebel Alliance X-Wing Squadron

The Obama Administration has decided not to build a Death Star even though a petition reached the 25,000 signatures necessary. But that is not stopping the Star Wars fans from turning to crowd source funding site, Kickstarter, to seek funding to build the Death Star. Check out the Kickstarter project for an Open Source Death Star.

DeathStar_KickStarter

The project creator is seeking £20,000,000 in funds. The entire project will use open source hardware and software to keep the cost down. Wait, before you start putting £20,000,000 into the project, just want to point out that £20,000,000 is for the detailed plans to build a Death Star and enough chicken wire to protect reactor exhaust ports. The actual construction of the Death Star will happen when they reach the stretched goal of £543,000,000,000,000,00 ($850,000,000,000,000,000). Yikes!

OK, this is actually a joke. I’m actually surprised that Kickstarter agreed to it. But judging from the high initial goal amount, I doubt it will be successfully funded. Oh, by the way, the funding will end on 1 April 2013. Can’t wait to see the April Fools’ Day message.

Oh, and if the Dark Side is not your cup of tea, the Rebel Alliance has also created a Kickstarter project for the crowd source funding of a X-Wing Squadron to fight the Death Star.

PS: Some of you might notice that I’m a supporter for both Kickstarter project.

TV Station’s Emergency Alert System Hacked To Warn Of Fake Zombie Apocalypse

KRTV’s regular programming was interrupted by an emergency broadcast. Someone managed to hack into the emergency alert system at the Montana TV Channel during the “The Steve Wilkos Show” to post a zombie apocalypse warning.

Check out the video.

KRTV has confirmed that the Emergency Alert System has been hacked. We still don’t know how the hackers managed to hack into the Emergency Alert System.

This is a cruel prank. I think I would fall for it if I saw that on TV. Come on, it’s Zombie Apocalypse. We all know it will happen sooner or later.
