Free MRT ride if you travel to town early

Starting from today (24 June 2013), passengers can free travel on MRT if they arrive at 16 designated MRT stations in the city centre before 7.45 am on weekdays. Those who arrive at the designated MRT stations between 7.45 am and 8 am will be given a discount of up to 50 cents from their train fare.
The 16 designated stations are Bayfront, Bras Basah, Bugis, Chinatown, City Hall, Clarke Quay, Dhoby Ghaut, Esplanade, Lavender, Marina Bay, Orchard, Outram Park, Promenade, Raffles Place, Somerset and Tanjong Pagar.
This free pre-peak travel trial is funded by the Government as part of its efforts to ease morning peak hour crowding on trains. The scheme is not applicable on weekends and public holidays. The trial will last for 1 year.
