AKB48 and SNH48 Performance at Asia Style Collection 2013

6 members from AKB48 were back in Singapore for the Asia Style Collection 2013 last weekend. AKB48 was in Singapore 2 months ago for the Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013.

Pink Dot 2013

Pink Dot is happening this coming Saturday on 29 June 2013. This is the 5th year Pink Dot is being held in Singapore. Pink Dot is a non profit movement started by a group of individuals who care deeply about the place that LGBT Singaporeans call home. Last year, more than 15,000 people turn up at Hong Lim Park, making it the largest gathering to take place at Hong Lim Park Speaker’s Corner.

Girls’ Generation Press Conference and Performance at Asia Style Collection 2013

Got the opportunity to meet Girls’ Generation last weekend during the Asia Style Collection 2013 thanks to the kind folks at Pickat SG. Unfortunately Sooyoung didn’t come to Singapore this time. But it is s till great meeting the girls at the press conference.

Free MRT ride if you travel to town early

Starting from today (24 June 2013), passengers can free travel on MRT if they arrive at 16 designated MRT stations in the city centre before 7.45 am on weekdays. Those who arrive at the designated MRT stations between 7.45 am and 8 am will be given a discount of up to 50 cents from their train fare.

The 16 designated stations are Bayfront, Bras Basah, Bugis, Chinatown, City Hall, Clarke Quay, Dhoby Ghaut, Esplanade, Lavender, Marina Bay, Orchard, Outram Park, Promenade, Raffles Place, Somerset and Tanjong Pagar.

This free pre-peak travel trial is funded by the Government as part of its efforts to ease morning peak hour crowding on trains. The scheme is not applicable on weekends and public holidays. The trial will last for 1 year.
