AMK Town Council website hacked

Ang Mo Kio Town Council website has been hacked today morning. A image of the Guy Fawkes Mask was added to the website together with this message.

“I have been to various sites and seen how they take the initiative to secure their systems. You have a brain & you have money. You had a choice. Don’t blame external factors (Anonymous) for this hack.” – The Messiah

There is also another message on page 2 saying that MP Ang Hin Kee has tender his resignation.

The image and message has been taken down and AMKTC website is currently offline.

It seems like the hacker is referring to a statement made by Mr Ang Hin Kee, MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, regarding bad behaviour on public transport.

I’ve been to crowded places and seen how people accommodate one another. You have a choice. Don’t blame external factors for your behaviour.

The Walking Dead Pop Up Cafe at Race The Dead

If you are taking part in the Race The Dead event, do lookout for The Walking Dead Pop Up Cafe at The Quarantine Carnival. The Walkers are serving food and beverages to the survivors to refill their energy. But it is not your usual kind of food and beverages. They are serving Rotting Flesh Tacos, Bloody-eye Shots with Maggots and Blood Beverages.

OK, this is weird. During the 5km run, there are zombies trying to eat you alive. Then when you reach the end point, these Walkers are trying to feed you? Hmmm…. But who cares? They are giving out free food and drinks and so far nobody has been bitten in the Quarantine Area.

Oh, and get your camera ready cause the Walkers at the Pop Up Cafe really look like the real Walkers from the TV series The Walking Dead.

To catch more of The Walking Dead fever, check out FOX Movies Premium HD (SingTel mio TV Ch. 414) every Sunday at 10pm. There is also a free marathon of The Walking Dead Season 1-3 available on mio TV Video on Demand for all mio TV subscribers. Simply press the VOD button on your mio TV remote control and select the “Must Watch” option to begin.

Upgrading to Windows 8.1 using 3.5″ Floppy Disks

If you don’t have Internet access or CD drive, maybe you can try upgrading to Windows 8.1 using 3.5″ Floppy Disk. All you need is 3711 disk only.

Haha. OK, this is most likely a joke. But it sure brings back the good old memories of inserting one Floppy Disk after another to install games and applications. TGIF.

BBM now available on iPhone and Android

After some minor hiccups, the much awaited BlackBerry Messenger is now available for both iPhone and Android. According to BlackBerry, the BBM app has been downloaded over 10 million times by iPhone and Android users, making it one of the best single-day openings for a mobile app to date.

BBM also quickly rose through the rankings on the App Store to be the number one free app in more than 75 countries in the first 24 hours, including the US, Canada, the UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East.

BBM is slightly different from the usual Instant Messaging App. BBM Chat lets you know if your message has been delivered and read. You can also create a BBM Group with up to 30 friends to chat, share photo albums, calendars and files. And perhaps the most unique thing about BBM is the PIN. Every BBM user has a unique PIN that maintain privacy so that users are not required to give out their phone number or email address to new or casual contact.

That’s not all. BlackBerry said that Android and iPhone users will have access to BBM Voice and Video calling, as well as the new community building tool – BBM Channels – in the near future.

iOS 7.0.3 fixed motion sickness issue

Ever since the iOS 7 update, I’ve been hearing some friends complaining that they are getting motion sickness from the transitions animation.

Well, good news for all those who are getting motion sickness from iOS 7. Apple just released iOS 7.0.3 and one of the enhancement is the improved Reduce Motion setting to minimize both motion and animation.

Basically by turning on this setting, it remove most of the fanciful transitions animation. This will make the iOS 7 look kinda boring but at least it help solve the motion sickness issue.

So if iOS 7 is giving you motion sickness, try turning on this setting. The Reduce Motion option can be found under Settings/General/Accessibility/Reduce Motion.
