HTC One Double Dip Flip Case

Here’s a nice flip case for the HTC One. The Double Dip Flip is a slim hard-shell case with protective fabric wrap around.

The best part about the case is that it folds into a landscape stand. Great for watching videos on your HTC One.

Starbucks raised more than $62K for The Salvation Army

Starbucks Singapore raised a total of S$62,655.30 for The Salvation Army during the recent Open House. This is the highest amount in the 10 years partnership. A total of 29,411 cups of complimentary tall-sized Christmas beverage were given away at 98 Starbucks outlets nationwide.

It is also the first time Starbucks had Christmas Festival and mini-concerts featuring more than 20 local artists supported by Starbucks.

Lego Minifigures Series 12

This is going to be an interesting Minifigures series. Instead of random characters, the Lego Minifigures Series 12 is going to be made up of 16 characters from The Lego Movie.

The 16 characters are:

Calamity Drone
Gail the Construction Worker
Abraham Lincoln
Larry the Barista
Panda Guy
Velma Staplebot
William Shakespeare
Taco Tuesday Guy
“Where are my Pants?” Guy
Wiley Fusebot
President Business
Wild West Wyldstyle
Hard Hat Emmet
Bad Cop/Good Cop
Mrs. Scratchen-Post
Marsha Queen of the Mermaids

Besides the Minifigures, Lego will also be launching a series of set based on the Lego Movie. This is going to be a great build up to the movie premiere on 6 February 2014.

The Lego Minifigures series 12 is expected to be in stores from January 2014 but some stores in US are already selling them now.

And that explains why I’m going Lego store every few days to check if they have arrived Singapore.

Bill Gates play Secret Santa

Nobody really expect Bill Gates to be a Reddit user and taking part in the website’s annual Secret Santa gift exchange.

The billionaire philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder took part in the Secret Santa gift exchange and was matched with Reddit user Rachel (NY1227). Bill Gates gifted her a stuffed cow along with a donation to the non-profit Heifer International and the travel book Journeys of a Lifetime.

Rachel didn’t know that her Secret Santa was Bill Gates until she saw a photo of him in front of a Christmas tree with the book, cow, and note.

His gift brought some attention to the charity work done by Heifer International. The organisation gives families in need the right tools such as animals, seeds, clean water, safe stoves or a chance for girls to go to school. Brilliant gift by Bill Gates.

OK guys, the award for best Secret Santa 2013 goes to Bill Gates. Hmmm…. I wonder what did he get in return.
