The annual St Patrick’s Day parade took place last Sunday at Boat Quay. The parade began near the Raffles Landing in front of the Arts House and ended at the UOB Plaza, crossing the iconic Cavenagh Bridge. This is the 10th St Patrick’s Day parade in Singapore.
I had the opportunity to check out the Xiaomi Redmi 2 recently before the start of the sales in Singapore.
The Redmi 2 has a 4.7 inch screen (1280 x 720 HD screen, 312ppi), weighs 133grams and measures 134 x 67.2 x 9.4 mm. That’s thinner and lighter than the Redmi 1S even though both have the same screen size. Quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB Flash (expandable to 32GB). The rear facing camera is a 22mm wide angle lens, 8 megapixel with f2.2 aperture. Front facing camera is 2 megapixel.
The Redmi 2 comes with a 2200 mAh removable battery with Quick Charge 1.0 that charges 20% faster than the Redmi 1S.
Perhaps the most interesting feature is the Dual SIM slot that support 4G. This means you can have two 4G SIM card on standby at the same time. You get to control which card to make outgoing call and which card for data usage. Great for those who have a work line and a personal line. And it’s also great for those traveling and want to use the local SIM card for data only.
The Redmi 2 will be available in Singapore starting 17 March 2015, 12 noon at mi.com. Priced at S169 and available in White Colour. Past experience tells me that it will be sold out within seconds. So do camp early and good luck.
Happy Pi Day everyone. For the uninitiated, March 14 is Pi Day. 3.14, get it?
This year’s Pi Day is slightly different because it is the year 2015. The first 5 digit of Pi is 3.1415. And at 9:26:53, you will get 3.141592653. You won’t get this for another 100 years. So treasure this moment.
Happy Pi Day. Have a pie. Or at least a LEGO Pie.
GUINNESS is treating the nation to 20,000 complimentary pints this St Patrick’s Festival from 13 to 17 March 2015. That means more than 4,000 pints daily and a total of over 11,000 litres of the velvety brew given away over five days.
The GUINNESS pints can be redeemed using Singtel’s mWallet app which is available for download via Apple’s App Store or Android’s Google Play. Once logged into the App, customers over the age of 18 will see a prompter that allows them to click through to complete their pint redemption and view the list of island-wide outlets where they can pick up their complimentary GUINNESS.
