Visitors to GameStart 2015 are in for a treat. For the first time in South East Asia, visitors will be able to try the PlayStation VR headset peripheral.
Previously known as Project Morpheus (which is a much cooler name), PlayStation VR transport the player into an impressive virtual world. As the player’s head rotates, the image of the world will also rotate naturally and intuitively in real time. By utilizing 3D audio technology, sounds that players hear will also change in real-time depending on their head orientation within the 360-degree virtual space.
There are several demos available at GameStart 2015 such as The Deep, Kitchen, Playroom VR, The London Heist etc. Oh, and fans of Hatsune Miku can also attend her virtual concert and wave their PlayStation Move Motion Controller together with the audience. Pretty cool.
The PlayStation VR is expected to be launch in the first half of 2016.
Following the success of its inaugural show last year, GameStart 2015 will be taking place this weekend from 13 to 15 November at Suntec Convention Centre Halls 401 and 402. This is doubling the floor space from last year at almost 4,000 square metres.
More than 12,000 game enthusiasts from Singapore and around the region attended last year’s GameStart, trying their hands at over 45 games, cheering players at tournaments and competitions, and getting the insider view on everything to do with gaming.
This year, visitors can expect to see numerous trial stands and demo booths across PC, console and mobile platform with over 60 hot new games including several that have yet to be launched. There will also be meet-the-producer session, show matches, eSports tournaments, cosplay runway showcase and exclusive promotions for game bundles and show merchandise.

Bandai Namco Entertainment will showcase upcoming games Dark Souls III and Gundam Extreme vs. Force.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be presenting Lego Marvel’s Avengers, which is expected to launch in January.
GameStart 2015 attendees will also be the first in Singapore to experience the Star Wars: Battle Pod, an experiential arcade game that features a dome-shaped screen, transporting players into heated battles in a galaxy far, far away.
The retro gaming section “Retro DNA”, where gamers can check out vintage game consoles, games and arcade machines from the 1980s to early 2000s is back.
Celebrity cosplayers Johnny (Junkers Cosplay) and Karin (Acanthastar Cosplay) from the United States and TUNA from South Korea will be in town to meet their fans and be judges for the Game On! Cosplay Runway Showcase organised by Neo Tokyo Project on Sunday.
GameStart 2015 will also include an industry-focused Business Day and conference session on 13 November, Friday. Themed “Gaming in Asia: Trends & Insights”, the inaugural business day aims to promote career opportunities in the gaming industry.
Ubisoft Singapore Senior Producer Hugues Ricour will be the keynote speaker for the conference and will share his views on how AAA HD game titles put Singapore on the map. Attendees will also get the inside scoop from experts from Facebook, Mad Catz and Twitch, among others.
GameStart 2015 is happening from 13 to 15 November 2015 at Suntec Convention Centre Halls 401 and 402. Standard priced tickets can be purchased at GameStart Asia’s website, Saint Games (The Cathay), GameScore (Funan outlet), and all GameXtreme outlets.
Some of you might have noticed that the Favorites button (that Star icon below every tweet) has been replaced by a Heart icon. Twitter is killing the Favorites feature and replacing it with Likes. Yes, just like Facebook.

Electronic Arts recently concluded the beta for the highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. Over 9.5 million players on the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One created a great disturbance in the Force as they battle it out on Hoth, Sullust and Tatooine.
