As part of celebrations for its 125th anniversary in Singapore, Shell joined hands with Mediacorp’s Radio Gives Back to provide families in need with financial assistance.
From 4th to 17th April 2016, Shell donated $1.25 for every purchase of Shell fuels, along with additional donations of $5.00 for every 125 Shell Escape Points contributed by customers in support of this cause. Through this initiative, Shell raised more than $400,000 in donations, successfully exceeding its target donation sum of $300,000.
To celebrate the success of the initiative, Shell formally presented a cheque of $401,495 to Mediacorp’s Radio Gives Back today at Caldecott Hill, home of Mediacorp Studios. The total amount in donations will be used to provide financial support for families in need to help with their children’s education, utility and medical bills and daily necessities. This initiative is part of Shell’s long-standing commitment to serving the local community.
SanDisk just announced a new Flash Drive designed specifically for the next generation devices. Good news if you are an American Express Credit Card holder. You can now sign up for Apple Pay with American Express Credit Card issued in Singapore.
Starting today, Amex Card Members can add their eligible personal and corporate cards and pay with their iPhone or Apple Watch. However, there is a S$100 limit per Apple Pay transaction.
Paying with Apple Pay is easy. There’s no need to peon an app or even wake your display. To pay, just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. Or double-click the Home button when your iPhone is locked to access Wallet. Apple Pay assigns a unique number for each purchase. Your card number is never stored on your device and are never sent to merchants when you make a payment.
Apple Pay is currently available at the following participating merchants.
Singapore is the 6th country in the world to have Apple Pay. Support for VISA will be coming soon however no date is given.
But that’s just for iPhone users. Well, OCBC has extended the OneTouch feature to the Android version of OCBC Mobile Banking app, becoming the first bank in Singapore to offer a banking app with a fingerprint authentication feature for smartphones running on the Android operating system. Customers who own supported phone models can now access to their balances for all their banking accounts, credit cards and investments, as well as credit card details such as rewards, due dates and credit limits using their fingerprint.
The OCBC Mobile Banking Android app is available for download for free on the Google Play Store. Customers can enjoy the OneTouch function on the following Samsung Galaxy models running on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system or newer: S5 series, S6 series, S7 series, A5, A7, A8, Note 4, Note 5, Note Edge and Alpha.
