Starbucks Asian Dolce Latte

Starbucks recently launched a special treat for coffee lovers this “summer”. The Starbucks Asian Dolce Latte is a favorite classic latte with an Asian twist.

AsianDolceLatte

The Asian Dolce Latte comes with a standard double shot of espresso using dark-roasted Starbucks Espresso Roast layered against softly steamed milk and a specially developed dolce sauce that makes it distinctly local to the Asian palette. This is the first Starbucks beverage that comes with a standard double shot of espresso. From what I understand, this is because Asians like strong coffee.

And perhaps I should be reading the Press Release first before tasting it. I’m drinking the Asian Dolce Latte at 10pm on a weekday night. Perhaps not so advisable especially when you have a long day at work the next day. But if you need something to keep you awake in the afternoon, this might do the trick.

The Starbucks Asian Dolce Latte is available in Singapore from 5 March to 24 April 2013. And remember, Starbucks Card member can get the limited edition Starbucks Mini Card with purchase of 18 handcrafted beverages.

How to get the limited edition Starbucks Mini Card?

Have you seen the limited edition Starbucks Mini Card. Starbucks Singapore gave out 20 of them on their Facebook page few weeks ago. Ever since then, I’ve been trying to get my hands on it.

Starbucks Singapore iPhone App

Starbucks Singapore recently launched an iPhone App for iOS 5 and above.

The Starbucks Singapore App works great if you have a Starbucks Card. You can check your Starbucks Card’s balance, transaction history and number of drinks left to your next reward. On top of that, you can even use the App to top up your Starbucks Card. All you need is a Credit Card. I think I’m going to use this feature a lot.

Besides managing your Starbucks Card, you can also use the app to find the nearest Starbucks store or send a Starbucks Card eGift to your friend.

NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems

NESCAFÉ partnered with KRUPS recently to unveil yet another innovation for coffee lovers, the NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO Genio and Circolo Automatic flow stop systems. Unlike the previous models where you need to control the start and stop of the water flow, the new Automatic flow stop systems allow you to set the amount of water required.

I got the opportunity to review the NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems recently for a week and I must say it is one of my happiest week. It’s difficult to get good coffee at home. But the NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems is able to brings good coffee to your house with it’s 15-bar maximal pressure

You might think it is difficult to operate the NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems. But its not. I managed to start brewing my first cup of coffee using the Circolo within a few minutes after unboxing. I didn’t even read the manual. Just put in the capsule, set the water level and you are ready to enjoy a great cup of coffee. The water level required is clearly marked on the capsules. Some drinks requires 2 capsules while others just need one.

It is a all in one system, which means you don’t need a separate milk frother to produce frothy foam. Just pop in the milk capsules like what you will do for the coffee capsules.

There are lots different capsules to choose from. I’ve tried the Mocha, Latte Macchiato, Green Tea Latte, Chai Tea Latte and Peach Tea. My favorite is the Mocha. The Peach Tea is kinda interesting because it uses cold water instead of hot.

As a whole, the NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems is a good machine to have for all coffee lovers. My only complain is that the machine doesn’t alert you when the water tank is low or empty. But that’s not a big deal.

The NESCAFÉ Circolo Automatic flow stop systems is now available at all electrical chain stores, selected departmental stores, selected supermarkets and hypermarkets, and authorized dealers. Comes in Titanium & Red Metal colour and retails at S$339. A box of capsule cost S$10.90. Depending on the favors, each box serves 8 to 16 drinks.
