Starbucks Coffee Company opened its 100th store in Singapore on Friday. Located at the iconic Fullerton Waterboat House, it is the biggest fully air-conditioned store in Singapore with a sitting capacity of 180. It also feature the first dedicated Starbucks Slow Bar Coffee Experience in Singapore using either one of the three manual brew methods: Coffee Press, Pour Over and Chemex.
The Fullerton Waterboat House Starbucks is also the first store in Singapore to collaborate with the Autism Resource Center (ARC) Employability and Employment Center (E2C) to train people with autism and equip them with skills necessary for purposeful employment. Through this collaboration, the store has hired six partners from ARC’s program as part of a long-term commitment to work with ARC to train people with autism and equip them with skills necessary for purposeful employment.
To celebrate this alliance and Starbuck’s commitment to give back to the local community, a community wall has been dedicated to raise the autism awareness and showcase the talents of people with autism. Two special Starbucks tumblers designed by a student at Pathlight School will be sold exclusively at the Starbucks 100th store with $5 from the sales of each tumbler going to fund the ARC’s efforts.
