Gamestart 2016

GameStart is back for the third year this weekend at Suntec Convention Centre, Hall 405 and 406. Expect a weekend of gaming madness, with new activities like an event quest and daily lucky draw, non-stop esports action, cosplay, game art and much more.

Xbox will be making its first appearance at GameStart 2016. Fans and gamers can visit the Xbox booth to be one of the first in Singapore to try out the highly-anticipated Gears of War 4. With an exclusive behind-closed-doors preview, gamers can look forward to experiencing the Gears of War 4 multiplayer on Xbox One and Windows 10 ahead of the game’s launch on 11 October. Not only can they look forward to playing the game first with their friends, participants will stand a chance to win a copy of Gears of War 4 each day.

Besides Gears of War 4, gamers can also try their hand at some of the hottest Xbox One and Windows 10 games such as the recently-launched Forza Horizon 3 and ReCore, to fan favourites such as NBA2K17, XCOM2, EA SPORTS FIFA17 and special previews of Final Fantasy XV.

Also making its GameStart Asia debut is Southeast Asia Major (SEAM) 2016, one of Asia’s largest fighting game tournaments where international top players like Daigo “The Beast” Umehara come to Singapore to compete. Presented by Sony Interactive Entertainment, visitors can expect fierce competitive action from popular fighting games like Street Fighter 5, Guilty Gear: XRD REVELATOR or even brand new titles like King of Fighters XIV or BlazBlue: Central Fiction.

Starbucks Singapore opens its 7th Reserve Store at Marina Bay Sands

Coffee lovers, there is a new Starbucks Reserve Store in town. Starbucks Singapore just opened its 7th Reserve Store at Marina Bay Sands.

The Starbucks Reserve Store at MBS is also the first in Singapore to offer the rich coffee experience of the Siphon Brewing method. Coffee lovers will also be able to explore and sample other brewing methods with Starbucks Reserve Coffee such as the Clover brewer, the Chemex coffeemaker, the traditional Coffee Press and Pour-over, in addition to the usual hand-crafted coffee and tea beverages.

Do check out the new Starbucks Reserve Store at MBS. I must say that its the most beautiful Starbucks store in Singapore.

PS: It’s right outside the ice skating rink.

Wanted to spend a quiet day today but woke up seeing few messages that basically ruined my entire afternoon. OK lah. Not really ruined but basically things that I can do without. Anyway, whatever lah. Can’t be bothered.

Been thinking a lot lately. 36 years is not a short time. And honestly speaking, sometimes I wonder if I have another 36 years left in this life. Maybe I should stop wasting whatever time I have left and try something different. Maybe extreme sports. (PS: I just bought a GoPro Hero 5 Black as a present for myself. Lol)

So many adventures couldn’t happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

OK, maybe I’ve been listening to Forever Young too much lately. I guess when you get older, you can actually relate more to that song.

Singapore Pokemon Go nest (After 27 Sept nest migration)

Updates: Another nest migration just took placed on 6 October so this list is most likely outdated.

Sorry for the lack of updates on the blog. Been busy with Pokemon Go. Since there is a new nest change lately, I guess I’ll take a moment to list down the new Pokemon nest in Singapore.

Disclaimer: These info are from Facebook groups, forums and my own observations. Do comment below if there is an error or if I miss out any important nest. Thanks.

Abra: Gardens By The Bay East

Charmander: The Charmander nest has moved from Punggol to East Coast Park Zone G. It’s a little bit out of place. You might want to bring more Pokeballs with you as so trainers are saying that there are only a few Pokestops there.

Changi Beach Park is also a good place for catching Charmander.

If East Coast Park and Changi Beach Park are too far for you, you might want to try Bishan Active Park. The Charmander spawn rate is not as fast there but at least it is more central.

Clefairy: Botanic Gardens

Cubone: Labrador Park

Diglett: Fort Canning Park

Doduo: Pasir Ris Park

Electabuzz: Mt Faber Park

Jynx Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 Park

Kabuto: East Coast Park Zone C

Magmar: Pearl Hill City Park

Onix: Dhoby Ghaut MRT

Pikachu: Pikachu nest is back! You can find Pikachu at Macritchie Reservoir Park.

Ponyta: Istana. It’s a restricted area. Unless you work there or got invited by the President or Prime Minister, I don’t think you can enter that place. However, you might want to know that the next Istana Open House is on 29 October 2016. Hopefully the Ponyta nest is still there.

Scyther: Bukit Batok Nature Park

Slowpoke: Bishan-AMK Park

Snorlax: There is no Snorlax nest. But if you are desperately looking for Snorlax to complete your Pokedex, I noticed that they have been spawning quite frequently around Jurong area. But you’ll need a car to chase them down. Only recommend this for those who are very desperate for a Snorlax.

Vulpix: Tanjong Rhu Promenade

GoPro to release a drone on 19 Sept

Looks like GoPro is ready to release the drone that’s been rumoured for the longest time.

Didn’t see it? Scroll to the 16 second mark and you’ll see something flying into the screen from the right corner.

Not much details about the drone that GoPro will be releasing. We’ll have to wait for 19 September. Oh, and if rumours are true, then GoPro will also be releasing a handheld gimbal and perhaps GoPro Hero 5 too. One could only wish all these are true.
