Facebook Parenting

Daughter post on Facebook note which is disrespectful towards her parents thinking that she has blocked his dad from viewing the entry. But she didn’t and her dad is angry after reading the note. So instead of just grounding her, he did this YouTube video and posted it on her Facebook wall for all her friends to see. And the video went viral.

If you don’t have time to watch the entire video, just scroll to the 7 minute mark.

Do not try this at home.

After watching this video, I’m so glad that my dad isn’t tech savvy and possession of gun is illegal in Singapore.

PS: Some people were saying that this is a staged video. I don’t think so. But he sure is getting some media attention (although he refuse to be interviewed) and I guess he is earning some money from YouTube. Enough to buy a few more laptop. Or guns.

Angry Birds now on Facebook

Angry Birds is now on Facebook.

The Facebook edition includes exclusive stages and 4 special power ups:

Sling Scope: “Laser targeting” to show the Angry Bird’s flight path.
Bird Quake: Create a mini earthquake
Super Seed: Increase the size of your Angry Bird
King Sling: Increase the power of your sling

So far, my favorite power up is the Sling Scope.

You can use up to 2 power ups per level. Power ups and the Mighty Eagle can be purchased in the store. $1 can get you 20 power ups. Rovio will also give you daily rewards for logging in everyday.

Facebook picture viewer redesign

Facebook just released a redesigned picture viewer that is great for wide screen. The comments section is now beside the picture. This new design makes more sense now. You can easily comment on a picture on the picture viewer without the need to scroll down.

And due to the real estate constrain, advertisements are now below the comments section. This might be a little misleading to some users who didn’t notice the “Sponsored Stories” wording. But I’m sure the advertisers won’t complaint about this.

What do you think about the new redesign? Like it?

Happy Birthday Facebook!

Eight years ago on 4 February 2004, Mark Zuckerberg launched Thefacebook.

I still remember I joined Facebook in 2007. Poking was still a “in” thing to do. There’s no Like or Share. And everyone’s page is filled with Applications and Games. Lots of interesting memories.

Happy Birthday Facebook! And congrats on your IPO.

Angry Birds coming to Facebook

Just when you thought Angry Birds have conquered all platforms, Rovio announced that Angry Birds will be coming to Facebook on 14 February 2012.

You might remember that Angry Birds is already on Chrome browser and Google Plus. So what’s the difference? Well, according to Rovio’s CEO Mikael Hed, the game will have completely new aspects and more collaborative feel.

Rovio is not saying what are the collaborative features yet. From the trailer, it seems like there are a few “power ups” besides the Mighty Eagle. We’ll get more information when the game is launched.

So don’t worry if you don’t have a date this coming Valentines Day. You can always play Angry Birds on Facebook. Who knows, you might land yourself a date in the game.
