Getting quite irritated by one of the admin staff that mass mail useless email to everybody in the company.
Here are couple of example.
One of our colleague here has lost her new Nokia handphone. She has tried the nbr but it has been switched off.
So if anyone has found the phone appreciate if you could give it to us in central admin.
Helping one another is really a great way of life.
Thank you and have a great day !
If the finder switched off the phone, then obviously he/she wants to keep the phone for himself/herself.
If the finder wants to return the phone, he/she would had done so without anyone emailing.
So why bother sending this email???
The water dispenser was faulty and sent for repair. Few days after the water dispenser came back from the service centre, the admin staff send this email.
For your info
Someone asked me yesterday if the water is drinkable. Yes the dispenser is repaired and clean for drinking.
If the water dispenser just came back from the service centre, isn’t it obvious that the water is now drinkable? If it is not drinkable, why would the water dispenser be send back?
Common sense would had answered the question.
The car park pass was missing and the admin staff send this email out to everybody.
CAR PARK PASS 14 IS MISSING.
ITS NOT BOOKED OR SIGNED IN.
WHOEVER HAS TAKEN THE CARD PLEASE RETURN IT IMMEDIATELY.
BE PROMPT IN RETURNING THE CARD AS IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO RETURN WHAT IS TAKEN.
THIS WILL ALSO ENSURE A GOOD FLOW FOR EVERYONE TO USE THE CARDS.
IF YOU ARE TAKING LEAVE EITHER YOU DO NOT TAKE THE CARD OR FIND WAYS TO RETURN THRU SOMEONE AS THERE WILL BE OTHERS WHO NEED THE CARD.
WE NEED YOUR CO-OPERATION TO HAVE A GOOD SYSTEM.
While I agree that there is a need for this mass mail, but there isn’t a need for you to type everything in caps. Come on… show some professionalism.
The next day, everyone got this email.
Card 14 is returned still with no signature. Thanks for returning the card.
Pse do take note to book and sign before taking the card and to return the card PROMPTLY.
What the point of sending this email?
Got this urge to set a rule in my outlook to auto move all emails from that admin staff straight to the deleted item folder. Most of her emails are those minor issues that normal common sense will tell you what to do.
And she always mass mail to the entire department, which is more than a hundred people.
Assuming everyone spend 10 seconds reading her email, do you know how much time the company has wasted?
