I was invited by Derrick from Lenovo to attend the Lenovo Blogger Nite at Brotzeit Raffles City. Wow. How can anyone resist going for a event filled with good food, great beer, excellent companies and awesome gadgets?
The star of the night, other than the bloggers, is the new Lenovo IdeaPad S10. It is so new that it wasn’t even listed on Lenovo Singapore website yet. (Or was it too small that I missed it?) The S10 is, in my own words, Lenovo’s answer to Asus EEEpc, Acer AspireOne and HP mini. It’s small and beautiful. So nice that I can’t stop camwhoring with it.
There are a lot more photos of me camwhoring with the S10 that night. But I think I’ll not torture you guys with too many of my camwhore photos. But hey, I wasn’t the only person camwhoring with the S10. Throughout the night, we see bloggers taking turns to camwhore with this beautiful laptop. Some even hug it so tight that it took several guys to separate the S10 from the blogger. OK, I exaggerated a bit.
Back to the S10. The S10 is a 10.2 inch laptop with 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 80GB harddisk and 1.3 megapix webcam. I didn’t catch the amount of RAM available. I think should be 1gb. It also has 2 USB port, 1 VGA port and an Ethernet port. All these at only 1.1kg. Cool.
And the best thing about the S10 is that the keyboard is 85 percent of full size keyboard. This means that it would be easier to use to the S10 keyboard. And unlike other netbook, the touchpad buttons is below the touchpad and not beside the touchpad.
1 thing I don’t like about the netbook is that there is no trackpoint. Lenovo’s Thinkpad is famous for that red trackpoint on their laptop. I was quite disappointed when there isn’t any trackpoint on the S10. But that is just me. I’m sure a lot of people out there don’t use the trackpoint.
I wonder when will the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 be out in the market. I wonder if I can get my hands on a review unit to play with it for a couple of months. 🙂
It was a great event. Very casual and lots of good food, great beer and cool gadgets. And the company was great.
Many thanks to Lenovo and Derrick for the invite.
