Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Been listening to this song on repeat tonight. One of my favorite Christmas song. Most people would have heard of Frank Sinatra’s version. Do you know that this song was first played in the movie “Meet Me in St. Louis” in 1944 by Judy Garland?
The original lyrics was pretty sad. But Judy Garland managed to convince Hugh Martin to change some of the lyrics so that it won’t be so dark. Then in 1957, Frank Sinatra requested Hugh Martin to make the lyrics a little more jolly. And that version became more popular.
Anyway, here is the version by Judy Garland from Meet Me in St. Louis.
Judy Garland – Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now
