Google Voice Search now available in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia

Good news to all Malay speaking folks! Google Voice Search is now available in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia.

To use Google Voice Search, you need to download Google Mobile App to your smartphone. The default Voice Search language is English, so you need to go into the settings to change the language to either Bahasa Malaysia or Bahasa Indonesia. Google is unable to auto-detect the language spoken yet unlike text translation. Maybe it is impossible. Or maybe we are just a few steps away from auto-detection.

The Google Voice Search is pretty accurate. I’ve tried it before using English and Mandarin. Both works pretty good. I guess Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia works just as well. I can’t really try since I don’t speak Malay. But I managed to get my dad to speak a few Malay words into Google Voice Search. Works fine. I guess.
