Google helping businesses create a mobile friendly website

Google just launched a new initiative called GoMo to promote building sites that render better on smaller screens like smartphones.

Businesses can use GoMo to see what their customers see on a mobile phone, learn about why going mobile matters, get inspired by great examples of business mobile sites and even find a mobile site builder.

The initiative is not about making money for Google. At least not now and not directly. If more sites were mobile-ready, Google could help them with mobile ad campaigns in the future. But the biggest challenge now for Google is that most businesses website aren’t mobile ready. Hopefully this initiative can help change the situation.
