There is no tsunami in Singapore

I don’t know why the tsunami warning today listed Singapore as one of the potential place. But that caused some panic on the Twittersphere today.
Don’t worry, it is unlikely that tsunami will strike Singapore. We learnt that in school, didn’t we? And if you take a look at the map of Singapore, you will notice that Singapore is well sheltered by land masses.

It’s quite difficult for tsunami to hit Singapore. Near impossible.
And the National Environment Agency spend 2 years and S$1.3 million in 2008 to confirm that tsunami impact on Singapore will be minimal. I think in the worst case scenario, we will get some slight flooding at the coastal area. Nothing much to be alarmed.
So yes, don’t worry. The tsunami won’t strike Singapore. Unless the Mayan predictions are correct….
