iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Top Two Million in 24 Hours

It seems like every iPhone launch needs to beat the record set by the previous model. Apple just announced that the iPhone 5 pre-orders reaches 2 million in 24 hours. That is more than double of the 1 million record held by iPhone 4S. And if I’m not mistaken, we are just talking about the pre-order numbers from Apple Online Store. The number will be greater if we include the number of iPhone 5 sold by the telcos.

The iPhone 5 will be available in 9 countries (including Singapore) from 21 September. Apple will continue to roll out the iPhone 5 in 22 more countries on 28 September. I must say that the speed that they are rolling out the iPhone 5 is pretty impressive.
The iPhone 5 comes in either white & silver or black & slate, and will be available in Singapore for a suggested retail price of S$948 for the 16GB model and S$1088 for the 32GB model and S$1238 for the 64GB model. We still don’t have the pricing from the 3 local telcos yet.
