Guess what? Chandresekar Rathakrishnan is back! You might remember him as the person who took Mike Arrington for a ride. Or the guy who released the JooJoo, claim that their pre sale went up after Apple’s iPad announcement but in actual fact only received 90 pre orders. Or you may remember his company, Fusion Garage, unveiling the Grid OS, Grid 10 and Grid 4, went missing and eventually into liquidation.
Well, Chandra is back and is working with to release the camera add-ons for iPhone.

The foto.sosho C.4 is the basic model which includes a flash module and 3 interchangeable lenses (macro, fish-eye and clear glass). It will be retailing in UK from 6 December at £199 (US$315).
The foto.sosho V.4 has a vintage look. Includes a flash module, 3 interchangeable lenses (macro, fish-eye and clear glass) and a slide out backlit QWERTY Bluetooth Keyboard. It will be retailing in UK from 6 December at £299 (US$415).

If I’m not mistaken, the Flash and Shutter button will not work with the default iPhone Camera App or 3rd party camera App like Camera+ or Instagram. You most likely need a special app to make use of the Flash and Shutter button. Both foto.sosho C.4 and foto.sosho V.4 are for iPhone 4/4S. Don’t ask me why would anyone spend US$300 to US$400 for accessories meant for older generation iPhone. And why would anyone spend so much money when you can get a lens system for as low as US$70?

Well, check out the interview Engadget did with Chandra.

Chandra keep saying that it is a fashion accessory that intersect with technology. I’m no expert in fashion here so you be the judge yourself.

Besides foto.sosho C.4 and foto.sosho V.4, the company will also be launching the foto.sosho V.5 and foto.sosho L.5 early next year. The foto.sosho V.5 and foto.sosho L.5 are meant for iPhone 5 and will come with its own 14-megapixel sensor and 5x zoom lens to provide a better image quality. There is no working prototype yet. I guess they will have to use a special camera app to work with the 14 megapixel sensor. It’s almost like attaching another camera to your iPhone.
No news on the exact release date or pricing for the foto.sosho V.5 and foto.sosho L.5. It is definitely going to cost a lot more than the foto.sosho V.4. And at that price, I might as well get a good stand alone camera.
I don’t know about you, but something tells me the foto.sosho C.4, foto.sosho V.4, foto.sosho V.5 and foto.sosho L.5 will be going the way of the CrunchPad, JooJoo, Grid 4 and Grid 10.

Gangnam Style is now the most viewed YouTube video of all time.

PSY’s Gangnam Style garnered approximately 833 million views since it was posted on 15 July 2012 and surpass Justin Bieber’s Baby which garnered approximately 805 million over the past 2 years. According to reports, PSY overtook Justin Bieber last Saturday.

Gangnam Style is also currently the most liked video in YouTube with more than 5 million likes.
At the rate that Gangnam Style is going, it might become the first YouTube video to hit 1 billion views.
On another note, PSY is coming to Singapore and will be performing at Marina Bay Sands this coming Saturday.

This is one thing in Singapore that most Singaporeans aren’t proud of. A shop at Lucky Plaza charged a Bangladeshi businessman S$10,103 for 2 iPhone 5 32GB with extended warranty. Check out the full story here.

The police was called in but they couldn’t do anything because this is a willing-seller, willing-buyer case. The Bangladeshi businessman eventually paid S$4,280 for 2 iPhone 5 (S$2140 each) after mark down.
A iPhone 5 32GB cost S$1088 without contract on Apple Online Store. AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone 5 cost S$99. Which means the Bangladeshi businessman would just need to pay S$1187 instead of S$2140 for each iPhone 5.
That’s S$953 more than the normal market rate.
Unfortunately, according to the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, it is not illegal to charge a price for goods or services that is substantially higher than an estimate provided to the consumer if the consumer has expressly agreed to the higher price in advance. Since the Bangladeshi businessman signed on the receipt, it means he agreed to the terms. But according to lawyers interviewed by the media, this might possibly amount to fraud or deception. Let’s hope someone bring these black sheep to justice.
There are a lot of ways to prevent such things from happening. Do some research before you go shopping. A quick search on Lucky Plaza will tell you which shop to avoid. And if you ask the locals, they will most likely tell you to avoid Sim Lim Square and Lucky Plaza completely. Funan DigitaLife Mall is a safer place to shop for electronic goods. If you are buying Apple products, go to Apple Premium Reseller like EpiCentre or Nubox.
Read before you sign on anything. The biggest mistake that the Bangladeshi businessman made was to sign the receipt without reading.
Lastly, if the deal is too good to be true, then it is most likely not true.
PS: I think CASE should consider setting up a complaint kiosk at Lucky Plaza just like the one at Sim Lim Square.

I was at Sim Lim Square few weeks ago when I notice that they added some signage to the CASE complaint kiosk.

This is much better than what I saw in July when the kiosk was just setup. At least the consumers know where to lodge their complaints.
For the uninitiated, the CASE Registration Counter is located at Sim Lim Square information booth for unhappy shoppers to lodge their complaint. CASE does not have any staff at the counter but the customer service officers at the information booth have all been trained by CASE.

Good news iPhone 5 owners. Glif for iPhone 5 is now available.

For the uninitiated, Glif is an iPhone accessory for mounting your iPhone onto a tripod and also propping your iPhone at various angles. It is a simple and elegant solution. I’ve been using the Glif ever since I supported it on Kickstarter and I’m loving it. It works great with the olloclip

Glif+ for iPhone 5 is also available now. Glif+ is a deluxe Glif package that contains the Glif, the Serif, and the Ligature.

The Glif and Glif is now available at $20 and $30 respectively on Studio Neat. Worldwide shipping is free if you spend $40 or more.
