Navy@Vivo 15 – 17 March 2013

The Navy Open House is happening in May this year. If you can’t wait till May, the Republic of Singapore Navy will be at VivoCity Promenade to give you a sneak peak of what to expect at the Navy Open House.
The RSS Intrepid, a Formidable class multi-role stealth frigate, will be at the VivoCity Promenade from 15 to 17 March 2013. That is the frigate that was recently deployed for counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden.
Yeap, at VivoCity. No need to travel all the way to an ulu Naval Base. They are bringing it to you.
The RSS Intrepid will be open to public during this period. Admission is free but you’ll need to ballot for ticket. Hurry, balloting closes on 8 March.
Here’s a photo of the RSS Intrepid that I took 3 years ago at the Navy Open House. Do check out my blog post on Navy Open House 2010. Although I didn’t get to tour RSS Intrepid, I did check out RSS Steadfast which belongs to the same class.
For more information about the Navy Open House happening in May, follow the Navy Open House Facebook page.
Update: Don’t worry if you didn’t managed to get the tickets via the balloting system. The Navy is also giving out some tickets at the Navy Exhibition booth in VivoCity everyday from 10am onwards. Tickets are limited so do come early. Visit Navy Open House Facebook Page for updates on the ticket status for the day.
