adidas King of the Road race

Southeast Asia’s ultimate running event is back and set to attract record participation with two new categories this year. Come 11 August 2013, the third edition of the adidas King of the Road (KOTR) race returns to the Singapore with a colourful route set against the scenic Gardens by the Bay.
With a unique 16.8km route, the city race is targeted at everyone who likes to run – from the social runner to the serious athlete. Participants will be geared up in multi-coloured adidas race t-shirts – a symbolic representation of the vibrancy of the Southeast Asia’s sports scene.
Continuing the tradition since its official launch in 2011, the KOTR race will tour five countries – Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia (in chronological order) – offering the most scenic local city race routes available to running enthusiasts. Each country’s race is a qualifying leg, culminating in the grand finals in Malaysia where the ultimate champion will be crowned the adidas Southeast Asia ‘King of the Road 2013’.
For those who are up to the challenge, KOTR also encourages runners to take part in all five events across Southeast Asia. This covers a total distance of 84 km, the equivalent of two full marathons.
Runners can sign up and register online at the official Singapore adidas KOTR website from 13 May 2013. The early bird participation fees for the 16.8km and 10km categories are SGD$50 and SGD$40 respectively till 17 June 2013. The closing date is marked at 12 July 2013.
