Sony Singapore book donation drive for children in South Africa

In support of the South Africa Mobile Library Project, the Sony Group of Companies in Singapore will be conducting its 6th annual book donation drive for the children of South Africa from 5 August to 25 August 2013.
Started in 2008, the South Africa Mobile Library Project aims to enhance the lives of children through reading and members of the public are invited to help support this cause by donating new or second-hand English-language children’s books suitable for ages 6 to 12. Recognising that education is a fundamental building-block for creating better opportunities, Sony works together with the South African government to ensure that the donated books make trips to 600 different schools in rural areas of the country in colourful mobile library vehicles, giving teachers access to even more reading materials to mold and enrich their students’ young minds.
This year’s donation drive will involve three collection points across the island. The three venues are Wisma Atria Sony Store, Jurong Point Sony Centre and Funan Digital Mall Sony Centre.
All English-language picture books, story books, encyclopaedias and reference books for children aged 6 to 12 and in good condition are welcomed. Members of the public who donate 10 books and more will receive a small token of appreciation from Sony.
