SAF to allow camera phones in 15 more camps

It’s been almost 1 year since Mindef allow use of camera phone in 14 camps. The pilot security zoning programme was welcomed by Regulars, NSF and NSmen when it was introduced in 1 September 2012.
Starting from 1 September 2013, Mindef will be expanding the number of Army camps that allow camera phone from 14 to 29 camps. The colour zoning rule still apply. Camera phones are only allowed in the Green Zones. All camera phones are to be deposited in designated lockers before entering the Red Zones.
Although camera phones are allowed in the Green Zones, unauthorised photography and videography within all SAF camp premises remain prohibited in all zones.
The 15 additional camps are:
– Amoy Quee Camp
– Bukit Panjang Camp
– Dieppe Barracks
– Jurong Camp I & III
– Kaki Bukit Camp
– Keat Hong Camp
– Kranji Camp I
– Lim Chu Kang Camp
– Mandai Camp II
– Mandai Hill Camp
– Nee Soon Camp
– Selarang Camp
– Sembawang Camp
– Stagmont Camp
– Tanjong Gul Camp
The 14 camps that allowed camera phones since last year are:
– Bedok Camp
– Maju Camp
– Khatib Camp
– Kranji Camp II
– Kranji Camp III
– Jurong Camp II
– Clementi Camp
– Seletar Camp
– Pasir Ris Camp
– Sungei Gedong Camp
– SAFTI Military Institute
– Pasir Laba Camp
– Pulau Tekong Camp
– Depot Camp
All models of camera phones will now be permitted into the Green Zones, including those larger than 4.3 inches. Previously, only phone smaller than 4.3 inch are allowed. In-vehicle cameras will also be permitted in Green Zones.
