Chingay 2014

Got invited to Chingay 2014 last Friday thanks to the good folks at Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth. It’s been quite some time since I attended Chingay live. This year’s parade saw more than 8000 multi-cultural performers including 800 foreign performers from six countries.

Perhaps one of the biggest highlights for Chingay 2014 is the appearance of Getai (歌台). Celebrity artistes Liu Ling Ling, Wang Lei, Lee Pei Fen and Rawi Hamin were on a moving Getai singing an update version of 一人一半 from the movie 881. Personally I still prefer the original version but I guess the updated version is more suitable for a upbeat event like Chingay.
