Chris Hadfield’s cover of Space Oddity back on YouTube for another 2 years

Good news everyone! Chris Hadfield’s cover of Space Oddity onboard the International Space Station is back on YouTube. If you recall, the music video was taken down from YouTube in May because they only had permission to use the video for one year. The video was viewed 23,489,187 times.

But the video is not back forever. They only had a 2 years agreement for the video to available for free on YouTube. Copyrights is a complicated topic. And to make things worse, this is Copyrights in space. Which country’s copyright laws should we apply here since the Space Station is constantly on the move? The Economist have an excellent article explaining everything.
Let’s hope they sort out all these issues before the 2 years agreement is up. It will be sad to see the video disappear from YouTube again after 2 years.
